How to connect to your RDP server from any device
Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone and Android, step by step.
Before you start
You need three things from your welcome email or client area: the server address, the username and the password. Windows servers use the Administrator account. The Remote Desktop port is 3389 unless you changed it.
Windows
Press the Windows key, type Remote Desktop Connection and open it. Enter the server address, click Connect, and sign in with the username and password. Tick the option to remember your credentials only on a computer you trust.
Mac
Install Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App Store. Add a PC, enter the server address, and add a user account with the Administrator login. Double-click the saved PC to connect.
Linux
Use Remmina or the xfreerdp command. For example, xfreerdp /v:SERVER_ADDRESS /u:Administrator /dynamic-resolution lets you resize the window.
iPhone, iPad and Android
Install the Microsoft Remote Desktop app, add a PC with the server address, and sign in. A mobile connection is best for quick checks. Use a laptop for long sessions.
If it will not connect
Check the address and password first, then your own firewall or network. Some office networks block port 3389. If you still cannot connect, open a ticket from your client area and tell us the exact error message.
